  The Royal Bolton Hospital is an amazing place and I have nothing but praise for it. The hospital is clean, well signed and well laid out, parking is easy and inexpensive, and there is a lovely garden area with lots of benches. It is a busy hospital but the staff expertly and professionally deal with everyone, so you are never rushed. Today my husband had surgery and I would like to thank all of the staff at the hospital. Everyone we came into contact with was so friendly, polite and helpful. The level of service and care my husband received was way above expectations, and he felt reassured. You could tell that hospital staff take great pride in their hospital, and everyone we met went out of their way to make our experience a good one. Thank you. The work you do is amazing and you deserve so much credit.

  Had my eyes lazered this morning, took about an hour,excellent service ,procedure was well explained and as promised was relatively painless. doctor and nurses were very friendly and efficient. well done all and thank you. mr Thornton , bury rd Bolton.

  Recently had to attend the endoscopy out-patient unit (G Block) and I have nothing but praise for the nurses & staff working there. Absolutely amazing, friendly & really helped to put my mind at ease. I've been in a few hospitals in my life and Bolton is definitely up there as one of the best.

  I hate to post one star as earlier this year the hospital was brilliant in their care of my terminally ill Father in Law. Sadly the same care is not in place for his widow today who we have been informed is to be sent home TODAY!! This is an 82 year old lady who is still in pain from major operation less than 2 wks ago, is also recovering from broken pelvis & since being in hospital it's been discovered she has 2 fractures on her spine. Last week she developed a UTI & now has a cold. She is not steady on her feet as she is weak. She is also not eating due to having no appetite. What happened to "duty of care"? This is the lady they want to discharge to her own home to live alone with 4 x 15 minute visits a day from care workers!! They don't appear to have followed their own discharge procedure "Patients and their relatives/carers should be fully involved from the beginning in the discharge planning process".....we have not been involved at all! UPDATE : my husband has now had a meeting with relevant people and she will be staying in for a further 2 days after today when she will be reassessed. Shouldn't have to go to all this trouble to sort things out and feel for those who are not strong enough to fight their case! What I missed out on my original post is she has an open wound after the operation, least now this will be given longer to heal!!
